Altermann Galleries a fine example of what can be done with positioning. With little effort, it's now very hard to find any one of the artists or artists works not in the top ten position on the major engines. Google is best.
Give it a try, just go to Altermann and select any artist of your choice and use the name as the search term and see what happens.

www.thecardcollector.com has been under Position Masters Management for a bit over a year and now dominates the web under card collecting software and many other terms. It is a good study of how to increase the size of a site to have more keyword/phrase coverage without having to resort to tricks and traps such as 'doorway' pages. The image above is a re-make just about completed that will add many pages and features to provide a grater variety of keyword/phase use. There is no question the dominance will grow.
